I'm always reluctant to write about myself and what or who I am so here
goes. I was
born into a Christian home in 1967 in a small town in Northern Michigan
called Petoskey. I grew up in a small Baptist church where I learned all
the old hymns and Gospel songs. I grew up listening to The Blackwood
Brothers Quartet, The Bill Gaither Trio, and The Speers. I listen to
many different kinds of music but the songs that I really enjoy are
songs that first of all uplift the name of Jesus. In the matter of
praise and worship, praise and worship is NOT a style of music rather it
is a matter of the heart.
I have been involved in music ministry since age 13 from playing in bands locally and touring in bands nationally. I was the worship leader of a church for four years and have lead worship in many other churches. I also sing with my family, The Walkers, as well. I have produced demos and recording projects for different singers and have attended Stamps/Baxter School of music in Nashville Tennessee. I am currently the worship leader and worship director at Trinity Missionary Church in Petoskey Michigan. Tom's discography: * Graduate North Central Christian Academy - 1985 * Toured with ARC performing anti-drug assemblies in our nations public schools and juvenile detention facilities * Played 4 years with the Christian contemporary band Insight which was youth band at Kentwood Community Church, Kentwood Michigan * Started playing guitar at 13 years old and has been playing for 27 years * Worked for Zondervan Corporation for 7 years * Graduate of Ben Speer's Stamps - Baxter School of Music in Nashville Tennessee * Performed with groups like: PFR, The Blackwoods, Allison Durham Speer, The Toney Brothers Quartet, Mercy's Mark, The Mystery Men * Has lead worship in the Christian Reformed Church, Nazarene Church, New Hope Community Church North Campus in Petoskey MI Word Of Life Community Church Petoskey MI, Gooch Enterprises Thomasville NC, Grabill Enterprises Grand Rapids MI * Currently Worship Leader at Trinity Missionary Church Petoskey MI * Has recorded and fully produced 3 albums with his family ministry as well as other music groups * Has been playing piano for about 5 years * Personally trained under Ben Speer, Donna Blackwood, Stephen Hill and Daryl Williams * Commissioned Officer in the Civil Air Patrol-United States Air Force Aux.
